Back to the OLE GRIND

It has officially been one week since Steven left for Iraq. It gets harder each time; however I have learned how to handle it better! I wait until I am away from the drop off area before I cry, or should I say sob? ! The first several days are very tough, and I am so blessed to have wonderful family and friends to support me. My sister invited the kids and I to Bodega Bay Dunes and it was JUST what I needed. We spent the day at the beach, and spent the evening huddled by the campfire listening to the waves and fog horn. I spent the rest of the week at home, getting back into the routine, yet my sadness and broken heart did not subside. I miss my soul mate and best friend. I miss our time together… I cannot wait to see him again in a few months… We both agree that God has a plan for us and we will continue to honor Him and have faith! Although we are apart, we are blessed with our health and a home, family and friends.

So, this week I peeled myself off the floor and the sadness that consumed me and started working! I was asked to create some onesies for a baby shower, received a hair clip request from a bride, and was just asked to donate a gift certificate for a raffle. In addition, Angie Arthur (with Angie Arthur Photography) featured Sucre Lulu on her blog. I am doing a $50 giveaway (www.thearthurclan.com), and she took some phenomenal photo’s of the product. I cannot wait to post them. Thank you Angie… I am so honored!

I have posted some photos of the new clips I made this week. I have tried something new and I would love any and all feedback! Enjoy!

  3. Wow, I think those are the best yet. I LOVED the clip with the three little blue beads, reminds me of a little nest, too precious. Love the new fabrics, designs, flowers, etc. Will have to try the ones you've designed differently, they look beautiful. Every new batch of clips I see, I think they just get better and better (not sure how that' possible). xoxo

  5. I just had to stop by and admire your work! Just gorgeous little hair clips and very original. I'm going to have to buy some for clients and my baby girl.

My husband is also retired military and we live in a military community near Ft. Dix. I also have a cousin in Iraq now too, so I always have prayers for our soldiers safe returns.

Now off to shop your etsy store.

  9. Hi! I heard about your work on Ramblings and Photos by Ashley, and I had to stop by. You do some wonderful work-love your flower clips. You have a new follower in me, and hopefully soon a new customer!

Thank you so much for the sacrifice that you and your husband are making for our country. Your family is now in my prayers. My brother just joined the Army -finished boot back in July- and my husband is in the AF Reserves. Thank you so much, and God bless you guys.
